Scot L. Stark

Experience

Scot founded SSCM, Inc., an independent, non-affiliated financial planning practice in 1998. He is the former chairperson of the program committee of the Maryland Chapter of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and received the FPA’s scholarship award for academic excellence in 2005. In 2007, he was elected to the FPA of Maryland’s board of directors for a three-year term. Scot was further recognized recently by the financial planning community and his peers by being nominated to pursue the executive track as president-elect in 2009, then as president and CEO of the FPA of Maryland in 2010. His long-tenured board service concluded as chairman of the board in 2011.

Scot has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Investment News, SmartMoney Magazine, SmartMoney.com, and The Baltimore Sun. He has also been a frequent guest of Cent$able Finance radio program on WLOY 1620 AM discussing various topics of financial interest.
